Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

I will be hosting a Systemic Nutrition Seminar at 2PM on November 14th.  The seminar will include Dr. P. Mark Lopez, a UPenn educated vet who is now a raw milk farmer.  He will be speaking along with Brooks Miller and Anna Santini.  Brooks and Anna will be addressing the issues of the environment and nutritional deficiencies and their role on the human health.  I will also be giving a speech about being a sustainable individual.  My presentation will focus on fitness for intra-body efficiency as well as extra-body efficiency and the role that nutrition plays in becoming an efficient, sustainable individual.

Below is the Seminar brochure.  I highly recommend coming as these presentations will certainly be enlightening!

King Corn

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

This website and documentary was passed on to me by a blog reader.  The topic is King Corn and how everything in this country is being turned into High Fructose Corn Syrup and other processed foods that lead to the degeneration of our bodies.

King Corn

Just as my generation learned that cotton was king in the 1800’s in the United States, I firmly believe that in 3 to 4 generations, everyone will be learning about King Corn.  Hopefully, people learning about King Corn recognize the disasters it has caused our race and what it does to the soil, nutrients, community and overall health.  By avoiding processed corn, you are making a conscious decision to become a healthier human.  Start looking at the ingredients list for corn products and even look at resources for what they make out of corn.

Local Agriculture/Avoid Grocer’s!!!

This past weekend I worked at the Pennsylvania Renewable Energy Festival.  While driving there on Sunday morning, I got stuck behind a massive truck.  I noticed something moving inside the truck and realized I was boxed in by 3 livestock trucks.  Finally, after peering in closely I recognized the skin of pigs.  These pigs were stacked to the roof, heading to slaughter.  I began to think about the repercussions of decisions I make.

Those pigs were going to slaughter, getting butchered and then shipped throughout all of the US as food.  It doesn’t matter that some people in the immediate region would buy meat from those pigs, those pigs will still be divied up at the packing plant and sent to various different locations.

We talk about efficiencies all the time..this is extremely inefficient!!!  Why waste so much energy?  I say this because there are plenty of pig farmers in my immediate area that are struggling to find outlets to sell their meat.  This is the problem of the grocery store.

Why do we need a middle man? We now have plenty of farmer’s markets.  The more farmer’s markets grow, the better food we get, the healthier we become and the less energy we waste.

Next time you buy pork…think twice about it.  Don’t buy the factory farmed pork, buy the pastured pork raised with a good life!

Ok…the long awaited Cholesterol article has been posted.  I am going to wait a few days to send it out to my mailing list but here it is!  This article was inspired by my clients who always worry about their cholesterol, I hope this helps in their understanding of the bodies functions.

Cholesterol: Clearing the Misinformation

I am quite excited to put this online because there is so much information floating around the internet that is uninformed and simply wrong.  I hope this article does cholesterol some justice and people can educate themselves by reading through the studies and learning more about this vital nutrient.

If there are any questions, feel free to email me.

I have been working diligently to put together a very sound cholesterol article.  It will be up in the coming days and I am quite excited.  Please stay posted as it will be a very important article to sum up the processes of cholesterol.

Preparing all week to hold a stand at the Pa Energy Festival in conjunction with the Weston A Price Foundation.  I am very excited for this opportunity and it should be a fun time.  Stay tuned for the cholesterol article.

I will leave you with a great quote:

“The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.” Thomas Edison

Lets hope Edison is accurate!
