Last night my client and I reviewed his progress on his current training program. After the first 6.5 weeks of training, he has gained just over 6 pounds and added 35 pounds of working weight to his bench press and 25 pounds of working weight to his clean. Keep in mind, these are not hyperinflated numbers that you would see in a muscle magazine/website. These are results from nothing but hard work and lots of sweat.
The individual came in with a decent background in weightlifting. In high school, he learned proper clean, squat, snatch and bench press technique. He has been lifting consistently over the past two years but struggled to gain any significant weight. He has adjusted his diet a bit but not entirely, with further adjustment to his diet and the completion of the second part of this volume training, his results should be astounding.
The training is known as Pennsylvania Volume Training. I have taken a famous volume training program (German Volume Training) from a popular strength coach (Poliquin) and implemented a few of my own theories and ideas for a simple volume program. Pennsylvania Volume Training is shaping up nicely and adding plenty of strength and size to this particular client. I will keep posting over the next few weeks of the progress at hand.
