Travel Preparation for Elite Athletes
Often times athletes may be very well prepared for international competitions. They leave for their trips feeling like a freight train, ready to crush PR’s on the platform, in the circle or on the wrestling mat but many things can come into play as they depart for their competition. The first 1-2 days on site in the foreign country may still have the athlete feeling strong and explosive and ready to dominate their competition. It is at this point that many elite athletes fail to continue their side of the peak for optimal performance.
Before the athlete leaves, they need to plan their last 7-10 day schedule leading up to their competition. That means every single possible detail.
